Atheism
"Some of us who claim to be atheists are, in fact, not rejecting God Himself, but rather they are rejecting a false or distorted understanding of who God is, which is why we could never know the true nature of one's relationship with God."

Our sins hurt us more than the sins committed toward us
"Christ said, 'Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?' (Mt 7:3); it is too easy to hate the sins of others (from slights and insults, directed toward us personally, to genocide and racism), but the sins that should really matter to us are the sins we commit ourselves, which hurt ourselves, and then naturally others, the most." - Scott Hahn

"God became man out of love for the sinful human race: He became a mortal man to die to prove how much He loves us. He assumed a human will so that He might freely/willingly suffer. Do all humans suffer? Yes. Do all humans suffer willingly? No. The essence of love is to suffer willingly for the one you claim to love. God became man to suffer with a human will."- Fr. Hardon
"If your married love is to be pure, faithful and fruitful, it will have to have a share in the Cross, and when it comes (the setbacks, arguments, tensions, etc.), don't ask what is wrong with your marriage -- you thank God something is right with your marriage, because your marriage is sharing in the Cross."-Archbishop Timothy Dolan

Injustice of abortion
"Justice cannot allow the granting of legal rights to one person (such as the "right to an abortion") at the expense of the natural rights of another (in that case, the right to life and limb). To do so is to fail 'to give everyone his or her rightful due.'"
